Ms Apoorva Anand Conjeevaram completed her masters in Entrepreneurship from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and bachelor’s in Mechanical (Industrial) engineering from Osmania University. She also holds a certificate in Intellectual Property Management and Valuation from the World Intellectual Property Organization and a certificate in Finance from Harvard University.
During her engineering, Ms. Conjeevaram never restricted her study to that imposed by the syllabus but spent time studying the industry, exploring ideas and projects. She interned at Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd and also developed business plans for Google to help rural women in northern India. To supplement her growing knowledge in business, Apoorva also took up a summer course in finance at Harvard University. She then worked as a valuation and audit intern at a boutique accounting firm,Katepalli and Co. from 2011 to 2013.
As a student at University of Michigan, Ms. Conjeevaram was involved in a plethora of technology transfer activities wherein she developed a thorough understanding of intellectual property rights. She also worked as a summer fellow at the University of Michigan’s Institute of Research on Labor, Economy and Employment, where she consulted technology startups in Michigan. After graduation she joined 284 Partners, a boutique IP valuation and strategy firm in 2014 as a valuation associate. Her practice concentrated on the valuation of intellectual property and the determination of economic damages in intellectual property litigation. Ms. Conjeevaram had assisted in the quantification of damages related to patent infringement. Ms. Conjeevaram has experience-valuing IP used in a variety of industries including wireless telecommunications, medical devices, agricultural chemical products, and power management products.
Ms. Conjeevaram moved back to India and worked at the National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM) technology business incubator to organize India’s second agribusiness accelerator program. Ms. Conjeevaram interacted and consulted various startups that kept her abreast with the latest technological innovations. While at NAARM, Ms. Conjeevaram was selected to attend a fully funded program in IP Management and Valuation at Luiss Business School, Rome in association with the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Ms. Conjeevaram travelled extensively across U.S., India and Europe; exploring and interacting with Intellectual Property professionals and this interaction made her realize the lack of IP and technology valuation awareness in countries outside the U.S. Today, Ms. Conjeevaram provides state of the art IP valuation and innovation consulting services in India. Ms. Conjeevaram’s global exposure, background in engineering and business, extensive knowledge in intellectual property, experience working with startups and businesses allow her to be the perfect consultant for her clients.
